Re-enactment of Gaudy Green 2019

In August 2019, Brunswick Square was host to the towns folk of Gloucester in the year 1643 as they returned to the square to celebrate a crucial moment in English History. The Living History Camp offered the visitor an interactive experience. There was the opportunity to wander through the Square, talking to the re-enactors, discovering the type of food that would have been eaten, trying on a Pikeman’s armour or handling a matchlock musket. There was a blacksmith working on his forge, basket weavers and a butler cooking for his gentry.
